Anyone who enjoys programming and for whom data science, cognitive services and image recognition are no unknowns, can take part. For example students from ETH, universities or technical colleges as well as IT apprentices. Partners from the ecosystems of ETH and Microsoft will also participate. What do I need to bring with me? The only things you need to bring is your laptop and your motivation. How much will it cost? Participation in the Hackaton on Permafrost is free of charge! What is the team size? What if I don't have an idea or a team? The teams will find each other at the event. The team size should be at most 4 persons. During registration we ask you for your skills which will facilitate the team building process. If you already know someone you want to team up with, register individually and come jointly to the event. What about intellectual property? Do I own my code? You own what you create and you do not transfer any rights of your work. We do encourage you to open source your work but this is not a requirement to participate in the event. What about the data? Will my application still be able to access it after the hackathon? The biggest share of our data is already openly available and we are continuously working on providing public access to our data sets. What if I am not a good programmer? If you are generally motivated and have an understanding for data analysis you will find team partners who balance your lack of programming.
